Government of Serbia Completes Preparation of Economic Reform Program 2022-2024

The eighth cycle of the preparation of the Economic Reform Program for the 2022-2024 period was completed within the planned deadline and will be forwarded to the European Commission by January 31, 2022. The Government of the Republic of Serbia previously, on January 20, 2022, adopted this document.

Three key challenges have been identified, making them priority challenges and entailing a clear dedication to their solving at the highest level in the upcoming three-year period, namely: Increasing Employment, especially of the young, as well as harmonizing the qualifications with the needs of the labor market, Improving the Business Environment so as to be more favorable for investments and the More Efficient Energy Use with the further opening of the energy market.

The implementation of the reforms identified in the document is of importance both for improving the competitiveness, inciting the creation of new jobs and facilitating social inclusion and for meeting the economic criteria in the process of accession to the European Union.
