The tender has been expanded until February 2. The previous deadline for the submission of bids was November 24. More details HERE.
Let us remind that the subject of the tender is the preparation of the project documentation based on the Project for the Construction Permit and the construction of a new one-track electrified railway bypass route around Nis, 22.4 km long, for speeds up to 160 km/h.
The works will entail the construction of buildings and structures at three railway stations (Nis Sever, Pantelej, Vrezina), the Prosek turnaround and Police Station Pantelej, the construction of a bypass route, four bridges with a total length of 143.92 m, eleven underpasses, three overpasses, culverts, passenger underpasses (Nis Sever, Pantelej, Vrezina stations), support walls and a noise-protection barrier.
The tender also entails the reconstruction of the railway on the Crveni Krst-Pantelej section, the moving of local roads, the construction of access roads and the moving of the Niska Banja-Prosek state road, as well as hydrotechnical and electrical works.
The duration of the agreement is 2 years.
As a reminder, a rail tank-car filled with ammonia fell over near Pirot on the Nis-Dimitrovgrad railway yesterday.
The accident happened as the train with 20 tank-cars derailed, with at least one of the tank-cars falling into the Nisava river bed, causing a strong reaction of ammonia in contact with the water, RTS learns from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as reported by Beta.
A total of 51 people have been hospitalized, and one body has also been found near the railway.
The minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic, has stated that “the bad infrastructure is the reason for the tank-car derailing” and the he “doesn’t need a commission to determine that”.
He added that “the question is why there was a wait of three years to open the tender for the reconstruction of that part of the railway”, since, according to him, “the money is secured from a loan”.
