PKC Wiring Systems Opens Car Part Factory in Pozarevac

PKC Wiring Systems doo, a member of the international Motherson Group, opened a car part factory where 900 people would be employed in Pozarevac yesterday.

This is the company’s third facility in Serbia – it employs 3,826 workers in the factory in Smederevo and 286 in Cuprija.

The opening of the factory was attended by the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, the owner of Motherson, Vivek Chaand Sehgal, and the minister of economy of Serbia, Andjelka Atanaskovic.

Vucic stated that the state would give incentives for the opening of the factory in Pozarevac of EUR 4.2 million under the condition that over 900 people are employed in it.

– This factory will not only provide a financial boost for its employees, but also for the City of Pozarevac, which did not spend EUR 1.2 million in the construction of an industrial zone in vain – Vucic said.

He added that he hoped that the new investment would contribute to bringing back a part of the people who had left the country.

– Each place in Branicevo has lost a big part of its populace, because they couldn’t find a job. I hope that some of the people who are starting to work here today will end up as our host who opened a factory with his mother with a capital of USD 14. They have opened over 300 factories and neither has been closed, they are just opening new ones – Vucic said.

He asked people to return to the country, to invest their money and knowledge in it.

– When a factory comes somewhere, another one opens, and then another. The most difficult thing is for the first one to come – Vucic estimated.

He announced that, when the project documentation is done, EUR 9 million would be invested in the construction of an indoor pool in Pozarevac, that the general hospital would be reconstructed and that plenty of roads would be built in the surrounding municipalities.

PKC invested EUR 28.5 million in Smederevo and EUR 4.5 million in Pozarevac.

The company specializes in the production of wiring systems for the commercial vehicle industry, especially for heavy and medium-heavy trucks.

PKC has been operating in Serbia since 2014, and Motherson Group, of which it is a member, has production facilities in 12 countries of the world, including China, USA, Mexico, Great Britain, Brazil, Russia and Germany.
