The Thermal Power/Heating Plant in Pancevo (TE-TO Pancevo) should start working by mid-2021, said the CEO of Gazprom Energoholding, Denis Fyodorov.

In an interview for Kommersant, he explained that the extension of the deadlines for the completion of this facility was a consequence of the restrictions related to coronavirus in Serbia and China.

In response to the press, Fyodorov emphasized that there were no penalties for the delay.

He pointed out that there were plans for further investments of Gazprom Energoholding in Serbia and added that three projects of similar capacity were being considered and he assessed the construction of a wind farm of 200 MW as good potential.

Fyodorov pointed out that it was a topic about which final negotiations needed to be carried out with Serbian colleagues.

The construction of TE-TO Pancevo started in the spring of 2019. It is a facility of a capacity of 196 MW, which will produce energy from natural gas for the purposes of NIS Refinery and put the electricity produced on the market.

The investment is worth EUR 180 million and the contractor is Shanghai Electric Power Generation Group.
