The evaluation of the project of the construction of a thermal power plant in Kragujevac is in progress, Gazprom Energoholding told the Energija Balkana portal. According to the company, the necessary conditions for its realization are being analyzed at the moment.

Gazprom Energoholding is also considering other projects in the territory of Serbia, including the construction of thermal power plants powered by gas and renewable energy sources (RES).

– The perspective of these projects is currently being estimated and negotiations with potential partners are being had – the Russian company said.

They noted that it was the coronavirus pandemic that postponed the beginning of the operations of the Thermal Power/Heating Plant (TE TO) Pancevo, and not the delays related to the construction of TurkStream in Bulgaria.

The company also points out that they are dedicated to overcoming all obstacles and that they intend to ensure that the power plant starts working in the first half of 2021.

According to an earlier plan for TE TO Pancevo, whose investors are Gazprom and Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS), the facility was supposed to start operating in late 2020, Tanjug reports.
