Serbia and UAE Sign Memorandum of Understanding in Field of Artificial Intelligence – Emirates Develop Their Own GPT Model That Serbian Institutes and Startups Can Use

Serbia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of development and application of artificial intelligence in Dubai. According to Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, who attended the signing of the document, the UAE has developed its own language model, like the American GPT, and Serbian science institutes, startups and others will be able to use that model from the Emirates in the future.

– The memorandum signed means additional closer cooperation between Serbia and the UAE in the development and application of artificial intelligence. It is important for our country to follow trends in that area. The UAE has developed its own language model that serves to teach a computer something, to send it data, which it then processes and gives answers to various questions. It is practically a model like the American GPT, and Serbia signed this document so that scientific institutes, startups and others can use that model. Based on this, it will be easier for us to develop our language models – Branbic said and emphasized the importance of those AI technologies for Serbian companies and government.

She said that it is important for our country to follow all trends and establish partnerships with the UAE, adding that Serbia is one of the 29 countries in the world that is part of the global partnership for the development of artificial intelligence, as announced on the website of the Government of Serbia.

The memorandum was signed by Minister of Information and Telecommunications Mihailo Jovanovic and Director of the Serbian Institute for Research and Development of Artificial Intelligence Dubravko Culibrk and Secretary General of the UAE Advanced Technology Research Council Faisal Al Bannai.
