Climate KIC Accelerator 2020 contest opens – EUR 130,000 for cleantech startups
The Climate KIC Accelerator 2020 is setting aside a total of EUR 130,000 for local cleantech startups developing solutions concerning clean technologies and climate change. The program will be realized in 11 European countries, including Serbia, and applications are open until March 1.
The teams selected for the program will have an opportunity to upgrade their business through 1-on-1 meetings with mentors, international workshops and networking events.
In addition to this type of support, Climate KIC RIS Accelerator also offers grants of EUR 50,000 per team (depending on the phase for which the team applies).
The contest is open for startups from Serbia and the region whose products have high commercial potential and are meant to address climate change problems.
The program will be carried out in three phases:
– Business model development – Developing a business model, finalizing the prototype and getting feedback from the market.
– Business model validation and first users – Through mentoring support, startups enter the next phase of validating their business model and getting their first clients.
– Investments and scaling – The final phase is meant to prepare startups for future investment rounds and scaling.
In line with their degree of development, startups can apply for any of the three phases and the grant provided depends on the phase.
