Startit to open centers in Kragujevac and Sabac – Third I Know We Can event held
Startit will get another two centers in the upcoming period, in Kragujevac and Sabac, it was announced at the third I Know We Can event, held on Wednesday, September 27, at the Belgrade Youth Center.
As stated in a press release by the company, the Startit Center Indjija will be extended and turn into a center for industries of the future, featuring the latest VR, IoT and 3D printing equipment, where educational content, courses, workshops, meetups and other events, will be created.
The aim of the I Know We Can campaign is promotion of a quicker development of technological entrepreneurship in Serbia and pointing to opportunities for the young in the IT industry.
– Although our target group are people who are part of the IT community or those who have already decided to join it, the possibilities created by technology have been exceeding the IT industry for some time now. We believe that digital technologies will transform each product and service you can think of and that we need to create an opportunity to build a society capable of following those changes – stated Vukasin Stojkov, founder of Startit.
Within the overview of the successes of the local IT community, Startit reminded during the event that local teams had raised over EUR 60 million for financing their endeavors, and the attendees were addressed by some of the most successful local entrepreneurs, Vukan Simic of Belgrade's FishingBooker and Vladimir Mastilovic, founder of Novi Sad's 3Lateral.
Furthermore, as the press release adds, a growing trend of cooperation of big corporations and startups with technological companies was noted, and Telekom Srbija was identified as a pioneer of this approach. One of its executives, Milan Simic, talked about the importance of such an approach for the health of the society and innovations at the event.
In the past two years, guided by the idea of the development of the IT industry, Startit has opened 8 centers in Serbia in order to stimulate the development if the IT industry in smaller places as well.
