Three Serbian startups in ClimateLaunchpad world final
The final of the world's biggest contest for business ideas concerning clean technologies – ClimateLaunchpad, was held on Friday, June 30, 2017, at the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia. As many as nine Serbian teams presented their ideas in the fields of energy efficiency, food and agriculture, circular economy and industrial technologies, to the jury.
As stated on the CCIS website, the winners are Freon Frog, Bambooing and RioRE Brikuette. All the teams have been awarded with attending the world final in Cyprus in October 2017.
Over the course of the event, more than a hundred startup teams from 36 countries of the world will present their ideas to an international jury and a large audience.
– I am very happy that we are providing, through our program, a platform for these green companies to present their ideas and to be able to help them in their development. I hope that the network and the community of clean technologies will continue growing in the coming months and that we will soon see more jobs related to the environment – said Izabel Aras, adviser for circular economy at the CCIS.
The mission of this global contest is to find a support the potential for clean technologies in the field of climate changes. Furthermore, this way, ambitious entrepreneurs and startups are trained to develop a business and present themselves to future clients and investors.
This year, more than 350 teams from 36 countries are taking part in ClimateLaunchpad, and Serbia is participating in this interesting competition for the first time. As many as 9 Serbian teams presented their ideas to the expert jury, consisting of Miroslav Miletic, adviser to the president of the CCIS, Nedeljko Milosavljevic of the Center for Technology Transfer of the University of Belgrade, Vuk Djukic of the South Central Ventures fund and Ognjen Stankovic of the Innovations Center of the CCIS.
The Serbian teams are given a chance to win at the Cyprus contest, which would provide them with a monetary award of EUR 10,000 and a direct access to the renowned accelerator program Climate-KIC, the mail EU innovation initiative in the field of climate.
