Zemun hosts Wine festival July 5 -6

The Association Srpsko vino (Serbian Wine) in cooperation with the Tourist Organization of Belgrade and the Public utility company Beogradske pijace will organize July 5-6 a cultural wine festival at Veliki trg in Zemun within the Day of the Danube manifestation.

The wine festival will be held in the period 6-11 p.m. as the organizers announced, adding that the event is organized with the support of the Zemun municipality, the Association of sommeliers of Serbia, the Association of wine growers of Serbia, the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce and the Secretariat for economy of the City of Belgrade.

Within manifestation, humanitarian auction of archive wines will be held July 4 staring from 7 p.m. in the ceremonial hall of the Old castle and the assets provided will be paid to an account of the City of Belgrade for the support of the ones who suffered floods consequences.

The international commission for the protection of the Danube river established the Day of the Danube event in Vienna in 2003 and as of 2004, it is celebrated every year June 29 in all 14 countries of the Danube region with an objective to promote protection of the river and rational water consumption.
