Zrenjanin to announce new tender for water factory by July 1st

The City Council of Zrenjanin today adopted a proposal for the announcement of new tender to solve the drinking water problem in that town.

It was also confirmed that the city of Zrenjanin had officially terminated its cooperation agreement with Germany's WTE (Wasseretechnik) on April 7.

- An important difference from all previous attempts is the new model of procurement based on completely different principles. We're not going to either purchase equipment or pay for it. Instead, Zrenjanin will buy the water filtering service - Zrenjanin Assistant Mayor Ivan Devic announced.

He told the press that the city would insist on a high quality of water.

Devic said that the tender would be based on 11 items, stressing that the most important parameters were price and quality of water that must be in line with domestic standards.

- The cost of water treatment per cubic meter cannot exceed EUR 0.028 - said Devic.

He noted that the tender would be announced by July 1st, adding that the citizens of Zrenjanin could get a healthy drinking water in June 2015.
