EPS invests 2.6 billion RSD into strip mine Drmno
In 2007, the Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) will invest 2.6 billion RSD into the development of Kostolac's strip mine "Drmno". This money will be spent on the equipping of the new mining system, the construction of another well line for depth drainage and the construction of a workshop for the overhaul of heavy machinery and the expansion of the motor pool.
In 2007, the significant funds will also be invested into the recultivation of the outdoor and indoor depot, the construction of a waste storage, as well as into the survey and the measuring of harmful effects of mining works on the environment.
By the end of year 2006, EPS will provide another 15m EUR as an advance payment for the delivery of equipment for the new sterile system. In the scope of these works, a technological reserve bunker with a capacity of 1,350 tons has already been built, the construction of the tenth well line for depth drainage completed and a new conveyer belt assembled.
The significant means have also been provided for the recultivation of land, archeological researches and protection of "Viminacium".
