Fiat followed by NIS and Tigar - Who are top exporters in first eight months of 2013?
Fiat Automobili Srbija (FAS) with EUR 952.4 million worth of exports tops the list of Serbia's 15 top exporters in the first eight months of this year, the Finance Ministry said in a release.
The next on this list covering the period between January and August 2013 is the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS) with EUR 183.2 million worth of exports, followed by Tigar Gume from Pirot (EUR 162.1 million), Pancevo-based HIP Petrohemija (EUR 140.8 million) and Vrsac-based Hemofarm (EUR 101.3 million).
These top five companies are followed by Gorenje with EUR 86.5 million, Tarket from Backa Palanka with EUR 84.8 million, RTB invest from Bor with EUR 83.5 million, Ball Packaging Europe - EUR 79.8 million, and Yura Corporation with EUR 75.3 million, the Finance Ministry cited the data provided by the Customs Authority in its release.
Among the top exporters are also Impol Seval from Sevojno, Golden Lady from Belosevac, Tetrapak from Belgrade, Sirmium Steel from Sremska Mitrovica, and Leoni from Prokuplje.
According to the data provided by the Republic Statistical Office, Serbia export EUR 6.08 billion worth of goods and services during the first seven months of this year, up 24 percent from the same period last year.
In the given period, the country imported goods and services for EUR 8.73 billion, up 2.9 percent from the same period in 2012.
Foreign trade deficit was at EUR 2.65 billion, down 26.1 percent from the same period last year.
