Palic gets aqua park - Competition for complex designs in September

The City of Subotica will organize an open competition in September for architectural designs for the future aqua park at Palic, the construction of which is in the pipeline for the next year, Subotica Mayor Modest Dulic announced.

He said in a statement to Tanjug news agency that in line with the adopted Master Plan, that invement would be implemented on a nine-hectare land lot situated between Prezident Hotel and Muski Strand.

Dulic adds that the fact that a large number of Subotica citizens and people living in the north of Vojvodina go to Hungary in a search for similar amenities justifies the construction of this aqua park that can bring about the extension of tourists' stay at Palic, which now averages two overnights.

- The idea is to commence the construction of aqua park at Palic next year. In order to implement this project, we will organize an open competition for preliminary architectural designs for that central spa complex which should comprise an indoor facility, water park, spa center... - said Dulic.

When it comes to funding for this project, the mayor of Subotica says they could use the proceeds of a loan of one of the European banks, such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
