Henkel opens production line in Krusevac - Investment of EUR 5 mil
The Henkel company has opened today in Krusevac a new production line in which it has already invested EUR 40 mil. It will hire 40 new staff in the beginning.
The company at the same time presented its new product, Bref Duo Stick, which will produced only in Serbia and exported to the EU markets and other regional markets.
Head of production for the Central and East Europe, Wolfgang Weber said at the press conference held at the ceremony in Krusevac that new production section does not anticipate “copy paste” investment but that new segment of production in line with the latest technological standards and the most modern equipments starts.
- Henkel wants to stress out commitment and readiness to invest more millions of euro in this section and this is a confirmation of our huge responsibility and commitment to work – Weber said.
The new building where Bref Duo Stick will be produced occupies 1.800 square meters and it is the only production section for that product in the world. With the introduction of new technologies, this company will remain a leader in delivery of hygiene products, Günter Thumser, the President of Henkel for the Central and Eastern Europe said.
- We will invest EUR 40 million and that is the amount we had to guarantee when purchasing Merima and today, ten years after that, we are investing the same amount. The Agency for privatization monitored our business and they were surprised to see that we tripled that amount – Günter Thumser said, reminding that Henkel invested EUR 130 million in the previous decade.
Henkel exports to 15 countries in the region and the European Union and has some 55 million consumers, Christoph Till, President of the Henkel Serbia has said today, pointing out that the company became successful at the local market due to local products such as Merix.
He thanked to the local self-governance for enabling good business environment for investors.
