Holcim opens new concrete factory in Dobanovci
Today Holcim Srbija has opened a new concreete factory in Dobanovci, with a capacity of do 100.000 tons per year. Holcim invested EUR 2 mil and by the end of the year it is planning to invest a total of EUR 4 mil.
The largest part of produced concrete will be placed to the local market.
General Manager of Holcim Srbija, Claudio Soare said at the ceremony that construction industries in the environment of Serbia and Europe-wide in crisis "and Holcim is opening another concrete factory in Serbia because it believes in its future".
Soare reminded that during the past decade, Holcim invested more than EUR 131 mil since it bought cement factory in Novi Popovac in 2002 which was undergoing privatization process.
Concrete factory Manager, Goran Kujovic, said that the new plant could produce 1.000 cube meters of concrete a day and that it had 100 tons of cement in its silos.
The ceremony in Dobanovic was attended by the Swiss Ambassador in Serbia, Jean Daniel Rush, Regional Manager of Holcim Adrian Horia and local officals of Surcin municipality.
