Solar plant built near Kursumlija - EUR 4 million invested in Matarova
Construction of Serbia`s largest solar plant on a four-hectare area in the village of Merdare near Kursumlija has been finished. This solar plant named Matarova, with the total capacity of 2 MW, is now in operation.
Novi Sad-based Solar Matarova, founded by Gascom Balkan Belgrade, has built so far the largest photovoltaic plant in Serbia, worth about EUR 3-4 million, thus proving that investing in Serbia's renewable sources is profitable, the company headquartered in Novi Sad said in a release.
According to the director of the largest photovoltaic plant in Serbia, Milan Cvijetinovic, this is not the only project of the kind that this company works on. Namely, Solar Matarova has almost finished collecting all the necessary permits for the construction of another two photovoltaic plants in the municipality of Svrljig, with the total installed capacity of 11 MW. Once built, they will make this company, which operates as part of the Italian group Gascom Spa from Padova, an absolute leader in this field.
