Ruma may add the Danish-Chinese company Forc Co to its list of foreign and domestic investors as early as this December. As eKapija learned from people at that municipality in Srem, this foreign investor is preparing a business plan that should soon be delivered to the municipality, government and the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA).

- We expect this investor to decide to have a really large industrial complex built on an area of 30,000 square meters. It is a Chinese company that should bring here the Danish technology for producing memory foam. We believe we will learn all the details within the next fifteen days. This factory should employ about 1,200 workers - Goran Vukovic, mayor of Ruma, says in a talk with eKapija.

Belgrade-based company Capital Group has recently started building a factory for producing hat parts in this municipality in Srem.

- After several postponements of the commencement of works, Capital has finally started the construction of its factory on a 1.5 hectare lot in the industrial zone Rumska Petlja. The equipment has arrived, it has been put in a storage space, and production should start as soon as the facility is completed - Vukovic announces.

Adriana Tex, member of the Italian Calzedonia Group, put its factory for producing bathing suits in Rumska Petlja in operation in October.

- Adriana Tex opened a factory in Ruma on October 15th. As early as next year Adriana Tex will continue to invest in Ruma. The company plans to have a production facility built on an area spanning between 6,000 and 7,000 sqm, which should employ few hundred workers - says the mayor of Ruma.

The company Albon, which has kicked off the construction of a factory in the Western Industrial Zone in Ruma, should start the production of car parts by the year's end.

This British company has been allotted about five hectares of land for free to build a 10,000 sqm production facility on about 2.5 hectares in the first phase. The company will invest close to EUR 8.5 million in the construction of that facility.

Ruma plans to solve the problem of unemployment by 2020, but it seems that it might be solved sooner.

- We expect the solve the problem of unemployment in our municipality few years before the set deadline, which would be great. Between 200 and 250 new jobs should be created by the year's end.

Vukovic says that there is no secret to how Ruma manages to attract so many investors.

- We have created a favorable environment for all investors and gained the trust of those who already had their production facilities here before. For example, it took Adriana Tex 115 days to open its factory, that is, that is how much time has passed between the signing of an agreement and the opening of the factory. Such example inspires investors with confidence that they won't experience difficulties in Ruma, that our municipality is their partner, that everything is done fast and on time. It is necessary to involve all municipal structures. It cannot be allowed that an investor roams from one office to another in the municipality or a public company and to get discouraged due to an extensive paperwork. Once they are provided with all the required conditions, investors can only invest their capital and build a factory.

The mayor says that "investors constantly submit new queries."

Swimming pool on time

Construction of an indoor-outdoor Olympic swimming pool in Ruma's picnic area Borkovac, for which Ruma provided RSD 289 million from its own resources, goes as planned.

- The swimming pool is already filled with water, it is being tested, and everything seems to be in order for now. There is no reason for that facility not to be opened on 1 June 2013, as planned - says Vukovic.

The author of the swimming pool project is Ruma-based Projekt, whereas contractors are Projektomontaza from Belgrade and Graditelj from Novi Sad.
