In order to increase production, which will primarily be intended for export, people at Nis-based Eldi plan to move their machines into a bigger facility and to hire another 50 workers. As Stevan Radmilovic from Eldi Korporacija announced in a talk with eKapija, this company plans to start production in one of the facilities of former Electronic Industry (EI) Nis in the city on the Nisava River.

- We intend to open new production facilities, expand production and employ new workers. The company currently has 27 employees, and the plan is to hire another 50 workers once the production is boosted. We are already negotiating the acquisition of a facility of EI Nis. In that way, we would have a much bigger space for administration and management offices, warehouses and the production machines of our company - says Radmilovic.

Eldi markets its products in Montenegro, Greece and Croatia in addition to Serbia, and it now make plans at the company in Nis to penetrate the markets of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia and Bulgaria.

For more than 20 years this company has been famous for producing heating bodies, and now they want to focus their production at the new facility on products using solar energy.

- Heating bodies are seasonal products, so that we plan to diversify into other products as well. For example, Eldi Solar is a solar panel that is still a prototype, and we should start its production next year. It is designed as an ideal solution and an alternative to the expensive process of connecting isolated facilities, weekend cottages, farms, etc., to the electric grid. It produces electricity for primary needs, such as light, refrigerator, TV and similar devices. This product is energy independent, and it utilizes energy in an ecological way. Depending on the time of the year, it can generate between 1,200 and 1,500W of electricity. Eldi Solar has photovoltaic panels, so it requires light instead of direct solar radiation to operate - our interlocutor explains.

Elditerm

For as many as 21 years Eldi has been producing heating bodies with no water or oil, which work completely noiselessly - without fans, vibrations, fumes and incandescent heaters. Heat is spread by the natural circulation of air, so that all parts of the room are equally heated.

- Our traditional product Elditerm has so far achieved great results, given that it has won awards for quality in Geneva, Madrid and Paris. Elditerm is available in six different sizes, with the capacity ranging from 600W to 3,500W, and it is used to heat rooms spanning between 4 and 24 square meters. It consumes energy in a cost-efficient way, through an impulse thermostat, which is our patent. When compared to a storage heater with the same capacity, it consumes 30 percent less energy - Radmilovic points out.

People at the Nis-based company do not work on marketing because, as they say, their products are best advertised through word-of-mouth, that is, by satisfied users.

Eldi products can be purchased at more than 130 points of sale across Serbia, and they will also be available in most countries of the region as of 2013.
