Serbia more appropriate for foreign investors - meeting of Viennese economic forum commenced in Belgrade
On June 12, 2006, while speaking to the participants in the Viennese Economic Forum, which is held in the Belgrade Sava Center under the name "Invest in Serbia, invest in the region", the President of the Viennese Economic Forum and Coordinator of the Stability Pact for Southeast Europe, Erhard Busek, pointed out that Serbia was the key country in the region and invited foreign investors to invest into Serbian economy.
- Serbia has good conditions for investments, especially in the energy sector” - said Busek, addind that Serbia’s future, as well as the future of the entire region, is in the European Union.
Pointing out that Serbia has a good cooperation with the Stability Pact for Southeast Europe, he emphasized that Belgrade should, during the next two years, provide even greater contribution to the regional uniting.
- European Union wants to take step by step towards solutions for all present issues - said Busek and expressed hope that some progress would be registered in the liberalization of the visa regime for the citizens of Serbia.
On that occasion, Prime Minister of Serbia, Vojislav Koštunica, said that the Government of Serbia was firmly in favor of European integrations, but that everything must be in accordance with the national and living interests of each citizens for the sake of better life.
- We believe that the partner relation, based on mutual respect, trust and understanding between EU and Serbia, is the method for resolving of all issues and reduction of all other difficulties – Koštunica pointed out.
