Companies from Czech Republic ready to expand their operations in Serbia

Czech companies are ready to expand their operations in Serbia, primarily in the fields of defense and IT industries, stated the prime minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala.

At the business forum in Belgrade, within the visit of the state and business delegation of the Czech Republic to Serbia, he said that the Czech Republic saw Serbia as a country which had managed to secure economic growth in difficult times.

– We are acting with increased intensity as investors here – Fiala said and added that among the biggest Czech investors in Serbia were PPF Group and the companies Mattoni and Skoda.

He pointed out that the trade between the two countries was on a constant rise and that the Czech Republic was among the 10 most significant economic partners of Serbia.

– Companies from the Czech Republic are ready to offer experience and finished products – Fiala said.

The president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said that there were numerous projects for the Czech companies operating in Serbia.

– We are counting on the Czech Republic as a strategic partner in both economy and politics – pointed out Vucic.

He said that the business conditions in Serbia were stable and stimulating.

– In addition to the defense industry, there is another field in which, in the future, we can establish considerable cooperation, which is the mining industry – said Vucic.

He added that Serbia could and should also learn a lot from the Czech Republic, as it was one of the most successful European countries.

The president of the CCIS, Marko Cadez, said that the business forum was attended by 50 companies from Serbia and the Czech Republic.
