The first phase of the works on the industrial zone “Izlaz” in Novi Becej has been completed, setting the foundation for the further development of this important infrastructure project. This phase entailed the construction of the main traffic route with public lighting, as well as the installation of the first substation in the zone.

The total value of this phase amounts to RSD 180 million, of which the Provincial Secretariat for Regional Development secured RSD 140 million, whereas the Municipality of Novi Becej set aside 40 million.

The president of the municipality of Novi Becej, Sasa Maksimovic, pointed out that the project-technical documentation for the continuation of the works had already been prepared. In the second phase, the plan is to build another substation, whereas the third phase will encompass the installation of waterworks, sewer, a waste water treatment plant and an optical cable.

The total value of the entire project of the industrial zone “Izlaz”, which will also encompass green areas on 140 hectares, is estimated at EUR 5 million.

Nemanja Garunovic, the expert supervision representative, expressed his satisfaction with the quality of the works done up till that point, bringing the industrial zone “Izlaz” to its final completion.

Let us remind that, in April, the Belgian company Somnis Bedding, through its Serbian company, became the owner of 30 hectares of land in the industrial zone “Izlaz”. As the local media reported at the time, the plan is to build a factory for the production of mattresses and other bed products.

After the Belgian company Somnis Bedding, that is, the Serbian company Belirija, became the owner of the land, the American company Ecor Global, which produces ecological panels from agricultural waste, and which already has one facility in Serbia, which is located in Kraljevo, also become the owner of three parcels in the Kumanacki Put Street.
