Serbia and France strengthen cooperation - Business forum held in Paris

More than 80 Serbian and French companies from the construction, IT and agriculture sectors participated in the Serbian-French business forum that was held today in Paris at the Serbian House, which was organized by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the French business associations Medef International and Business France.

Mihailo Vesovic, Director of the Sector for Strategic Analysis and Internationalization of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS), presented the perspectives of cooperation between Serbia and France and highlighted the cooperation on the development of innovations, new technologies, IT solutions that can be applied and improve the sectors of construction, agriculture, but also energy.

- We want to develop new technologies, innovations and invest in research centers with French partners - said Vesovic, as reported by the official PKS website.

As he pointed out, the recently signed free trade agreements with China and Egypt also bring new benefits for cooperation. Vesovic pointed out that the trade cooperation between the two countries is on an upward trajectory and has reached almost EUR 2 billion, as well as the rapid growth of the IT sector, both in Serbia and in France.

The Ambassador of Serbia to France, Ana Hrustanovic, said that Serbia and France are celebrating 185 years of diplomatic relations this year, and that Serbia has been a strategic partner of France since 2011. Hrustanovic invited French companies to invest in Serbia, emphasizing that "Serbia is a dynamic market in the Western Balkans, which attracts 80% of French investments in the region." She added that, both in sports and in the field of economy, our country can win "medals" through increased investments and cooperation with French partners.

Hrustanovic emphasized the importance of the implementation of the EXPO2027 project for the development of economic relations between Serbia and France and added that this project will make Belgrade and Serbia the center of the world, as Paris and France are today.

Gerard Wolff, president of the Center for the Development of Sustainable Cities within Medef International and Pierik Bonnard, director of the Business France association, emphasized the importance of strengthening economic ties with Serbia, especially in the field of green transition, development of sustainable cities and the EXPO2027 project, and expressed the desire for Serbia to become a part of the project as soon as possible. European market.


Dusan Borovcanin, director of the EXPO 2027 project, pointed out that Serbia and Belgrade will host a specialized exhibition on sports and music in 2027, and that over four million visitors and more than 100 participating countries are expected at this event. He invited French companies. who possess great experience, knowledge and technologies to get involved in the project itself.

After the Business Forum, bilateral meetings were held between Serbian and French businessmen.
