Vesic: Ring road around Zlatibor to be completed by September, extension of three kilometers being designed

So far, in the first three phases, nearly 2.6 kilometers of the ring road around Zlatibor has been built, and although the deadline for the completion of the third phase is December, according to the contractor, it will be completed by September this year, stated the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic, while visiting the construction site of this traffic route, announced the competent ministry.

Vesic pointed out that the state had invested a total of around RSD 800 million in the ring road around Zlatibor, that is, more than EUR 7 million.

– For next year, we are designing an extension of three kilometers, and then another four, so that the ring road around Zlatibor would be connected to the future Pozega-Kotroman highway, whereby the ring road will be made complete, because it will thereby achieve its full function – said Vesic.

He said that, with the municipality of Cajetina, the work on the gondola project would continue and that, in the future, the preparation of the special-purpose plan would begin, so as to create the urban planning conditions for the construction of the gondola.

– One of the priorities will be the reconstruction of the Valjevo-Vrbnica railroad, which also passes by here. It is part of the Belgrade-Bar railroad and it will be designed for a speed of 80 to 120 kilometers per hour, depending on the section, which will enable the connection of this area with other parts of the country by a quality railroad – said Vesic.
