The biggest investment in the training of the civil aviation staff of Serbia in the past 30 years

The Aviation Academy is soon to become the owner of the technologically most advanced flight simulator for the training of pilots of passenger planes of the Airbus A320 type, following the signing of the agreement on its purchase from the Canadian company CAE. The Aviation Academy will thereby become the most competitive regional school for the training of pilots of passenger planes.

– Today, I can announce that the agreement has been signed on the simulator for the Aviation Academy, which will be installed in the special-purpose building within the Aviation Academy in Dorcol. The Aviation Academy will thereby become a user of the Level D simulator, but also the Flat Panel Trainer, also for the A320 type (CAE 400 XR Series), and the purchase of an FTD (Flight Training Device) for the Airbus H145 helicopter type has been announced as well – professor Dr. Gabrijela Grujic, the acting director of the Office for Dual Education and the National Qualifications Framework, stated today at the opening of the Southeast Europe Aviation Summit.

The delivery of the Level D simulator, currently the technologically most modern flight simulator in this part of Europe, is expected in a year and it will be used for the training of the passenger plane pilots who previously completed their training at the Training Center of the Aviation Academy. This purchase is the biggest investment in the training of the civil aviation staff of Serbia in the past 30 years.

The purchase of the simulator will enable the future pilots to acquire skills in the realistic environment of the cockpit, and it will also have a great significance for the national airline company, which will now be able to train the pilots of Airbus A320 planes, which it already has in its fleet, in Serbia. Also, the purchase will have an impact on the development of the Aviation Academy itself, which recently signed the agreement on the training of 500 cadet pilots from India.

– The plan of the Office for Dual Education and the Aviation Academy is to also get an FTD (Flight Training Device) for Airbus H145 helicopters in the coming period and thereby additionally position the Academy as the regional leader in the training of pilots – added Grujic.

The Southeast Europe Aviation Summit, the biggest local and regional aviation conference, which gathers over 170 companies and over 1,400 professionals from the industry, is held today and tomorrow in Belgrade.
