The value of the foreign direct investments that arrived to Serbia last year amounted to EUR 4.52 billion, which is an increase of 2% compared to 2022, as shown by the data of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS). Nearly a third of all FDIs came from China, which thereby placed first when it comes to the size of the arriving capital last year as well.

The Netherlands is second with EUR 738.3 million, and the United Kingdom is second with EUR 383.2 million.

Fourth is Austria with EUR 308.1 million, and fifth is Germany with EUR 178.9 million.

Despite this ranking, Germany is still one of the most important foreign trade partners of Serbia.

Last year, the export of goods to Germany, with over EUR 4.3 billion, equaled nearly all FDIs that year, whereas last year’s imports from that country were even higher – around EUR 4.8 billion.

Sixth on the list of countries from which the most foreign direct investments come from is Russia, with EUR 162.4 million.
