The announcement says that the more difficult-to-employ categories of the populace include people with disabilities and vulnerable groups – women unemployed in the long term, unqualified workers, victims of domestic violence, and that there are 260,000 people in Serbia who are unemployed in the long term, as well as people without qualifications, of which 153,000 are women over 50.
The executive director of the NALED, Violeta Jovanovic, pointed out that women who were unemployed in the long term most often had concrete skills which, with adequate support, could be the foundation for the affirmation of women and realizing an income.
– Social enterprises led by women can have a great impact on the lives of other women, mostly through education, training, creating new jobs, fighting human trafficking and gender stereotypes, access to sources of finance and giving voice to women in their communities. One of the main goals of the campaign that we are launching is to invite all the subjects which operate in this sector to register the status and thereby qualify for the contests and the measures which will follow through the Development Program – said Jovanovic.
