If you want to follow the stony paths of hard-working and noble highlanders whose skills create gourmet magic, then you are in the right place, we will guide you through the Cheese and Honey Trails of Eastern Herzegovina, where you will also meet the producers of numerous other products of this region.

Herzegovina, a country that magically combines the knowledge, skills and nobility of its inhabitants with a harsh climate and often scarce land resources, and creates products that you must try in your life.

If you head from low Herzegovina from Trebinje, through Ljubinje, Berković, Bileća to high Herzegovina Gacka, Kalinovik and Nevesinje, you will encounter hosts who spend their lives united with nature in struggle and love. That struggle with great love has transmitted knowledge through the ages that created some of the products that are unique in the world, such as bellows cheese.

By preserving the local food heritage and its promotion in the area of Herzegovina from oblivion, Slow Food Trebinje, Herzegovina cherishes and preserves it..

Slow Food is a global organization established in 1989 with the aim of preventing the disappearance of local culture and food traditions,it opposed the trend of fast living and people`s decreasing interest in the food they eat, where it comes from and how our food choices affect the world around us.

Go from the legend to the scene. Leave the cities behind for a moment and visit rural Herzegovina. Visit Morine - Herzegovinian Tibet, Čemerno, Volujak and Lebršnik, Gacko, Nevesinje, Trusina, experience Herzegovina the way Herzegovinians have lived since time immemorial, figuring out how to make enough for life from little. How to turn the harsh into the tame.

In stone, in the ridges of Dinara, on the slopes of the low and high Dinarides, there is special grazing for Herzegovinian cattle from Gacka and Pramenka sheep. This unique mountain range gave birth to bellows cheese, a special cultural heritage of these regions. The art of making the mixture is a craft that has been preserved for centuries, and is considered to be perhaps the oldest attempt to preserve dairy products for a long period of time. Bellows cheese is a candidate for the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage of the world.

JAnother gourmet gem from Herzegovina is cream cheese from the bellows. This specialty in combination with baked potatoes called "pole" is something that you must not miss to try in Herzegovina.

Honey from Herzegovina does not need any advertising for a long time. It is the most sought-after honey in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and beyond its borders. Why? Well, because the Herzegovinian sun entices the most diverse flowers and grasses to grow on the rugged Herzegovinian land. That is why in your life you must not miss to try the Herzegovinian honey, especially the one made from sage, winter savory or laburnum, plants that have a special strength and aroma in Herzegovina
