The public transport company of Belgrade GSP has published the prior notice of the launching of the public procurement procedure for new passenger transport vehicles.

According to the document, the tender for the new buses is planned to be published on February 16. Neither the estimated value of the procurement nor the number of the new buses that GSP plans to buy have been announced so far.

Let us remind that, in September last year, GSP borrowed EUR 325 million for the purchase of new vehicles, and the president of the temporary organ of the City of Belgrade, Aleksandar Sapic, announced the procurement of around 300 buses.

On that occasion, Sapic also announced the purchase of trams, and then GSP published the tender for the purchase of 20 new trams in November, but that tender has been stopped.

The procuring entity, GSP Beograd, explained this decision by saying that, “after the initiation of the public procurement in question, it was informed by the relevant secretariat of the City of Belgrade that it can provide a more favorable type of financing for the purchase of vehicles which are the subject of public procurement, with the support of the Government of Serbia, and thus can ensure the purchase of a significantly larger number of vehicles.”
