The Ministry of Environmental Protection has approved the Environmental Impact Assessment Study of the project of the construction of the bridge on the Danube near Ada Huja, with access interchanges and a part of Visnjicka Street.

The third Belgrade bridge on the Danube, which has been announced for more than two decades, is planned within the segment of the Outer Main Road Tangent (SMT), which will stretch to the Lasta interchange and connect Zrenjaninski Put Street with the highway E-75.

As the then deputy mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesic, announced at the time, the new bridge will be part of the “internal ring road around Belgrade.” The plan is for it to go from the Ada Bridge, around the Topcider Park, through Patrijarha Pavla Blvd, Pere Velimirovica, Borska, Crnotravska and Save Maskovica streets, to the Lasta interchange toward Mali Mokri Lug, behind Mirijevo, to the bridge on Ada Huja.

The location of the new bridge is planned 2.6 km downstream from the Pancevo Bridge on the Danube. The total length of the bridge with six lanes in both directions, as well as bicycle and pedestrian lanes, will be 3,498 m, and the width will be 32.5 m.

Let us remind that, in March last year, the carrier of the project, the Belgrade Land Development Public Agency, submitted to the competent ministry the request for giving approval to the Environmental Impact Assessment Study, prepared by the CIP Institute of Transportation.

The bridge was envisaged in the General Urban Plan back in 2003.

Initially, it was announced that the construction would begin in 2020, after which it was moved for 2021 and then again for 2022.
