Restriction on Employment in Public Sector Extended Until End-2026

The Government of Serbia has adopted the amended decree on the procedure for obtaining approval for new employment and additional hiring at users of public funds, which extends the restriction on employment in the public sector until the end of 2026.

– In the period from January 1, 2024, until December 31, 2026, in deciding on the requests, the Commission should take care for the total percentage of the increase in the number of permanent employees at all users of public funds not to exceed two percent of the total number of permanent employees at users of public funds as of December 31, 2023 – the decree says.
