“Hrana iz kraja” – First City Website for Sale of Local Products Soon to Start Working

Ahead of the New Year’s and Christmas holidays, the website for the sale of local products, called “Hrana iz kraja” (“Local food”) will start working. The website was made as a collaboration between the City of Kragujevac, the Center for Small Grains and Rural Development and eKG Info Data.

As announced by the City of Kragujevac, that is the first city website through which food products made at farms in the city’s area are to be sold. It is a two-way project, oriented toward consumers on one hand, the citizens of Kragujevac, who will be able to secure healthy and natural food from that area at a few clicks, and on the other, toward agricultural producers and farms.

Everything, as announced, will be done in line with the Rules of Doorstep Shopping, which the producers need to meet.

Zorica Jestrovic, the director of the Center for Small Grains and Rural Development, pointed out that the idea of the website was to connect shoppers and traders, that is, small farms which don’t have much product surplus.

– The tendency is to offer healthy food with as few pesticides as possible to all those who don’t have a lot of time to visit green markets, and who want to eat healthy. Our aim is to thereby form a friendship and a longer-lasting cooperation of purchasers with the farms in the Kragujevac and Sumadija area – Jestrovic said.
