More Than One Million Tourists in First Nine Months in Belgrade – Most Numerous Guests from Turkey

According to the most recent data of the Secretariat for Administration – Sector for Statistics, in the first nine months, Belgrade was visited by 1,012,498 tourists, which is 21% more compared to the same period last year. In September alone, Belgrade had 135,260 guests from the country and abroad, the Tourist Organization of Belgrade announced.

Of the total number of tourists, 874,488 are guests from foreign countries, which is 25% more than in 2022, and by far the most numerous ones were guests from Turkey (107,571, +93%), Russia (85,020), Germany (54,198), Bosnia and Herzegovina (41,308), Croatia (39,911), China (38,989), Romania (32,890). The majority of overnight stays was realized by guests from Russia, Turkey, Germany, China and the USA.

– As we’ve predicted, the growth of the arrivals and overnight stays of foreign guests in Belgrade continued. This period was also marked by the traditionally strong markets such as Turkey and China, and after our promotional campaigns, we are recording a considerable increase in the number of guests from Romania and Italy, with a further tendency of growth – said Miodrag Popovic, the director of the Tourist Organization of Belgrade.

– In the next period, we plan to take part in tourism fairs, in the World Travel Market London, and then also in the fairs in Bucharest, Thessaloniki and Beijing, and to the end of strengthening the region, specialized promotional events in Ljubljana and Skopje are in preparation – Popovic added.
