The Municipality of Cuprija has notified the public about the submitted request for giving approval for the environmental impact assessment study for the projection of the business-production complex KO Cuprija, whose carrier is the Turkish investor Feka Automotive.

According to the urban project for the extension and reconstruction of the Feka Automotive factory in Cuprija, which was prepared this summer by the architectural studio DS Design from Cuprija, the reconstruction and extension of the existing production-business facility for the production of rearview mirrors in assemblies for various vehicle types is planned as well.

With the planned reconstruction and extension, the capacity of the injection casting of plastic components, as well as the assembling of the finished components, will be increased, with the expansion of the capacities for raw materials on 72 pallet places, the project says.

The extension of the existing production-business facility entails the construction of a warehouse of finished products on 3,609 m2 and an administrative block on 939 m2, the expansion of the raw materials warehouse, the construction of a room for the cleaning of the carriers and a side facility for the treatment of waste waters, as well as a side facility.

The area of the currently built facilities is 6,705 m2, and the total gross developed area of the complex after the extension will amount to 14,200 m2.

The total number of the employees is 160, and the plan is to increase the number to 200.

In the future, the potential further construction within the factory complex is planned, the project says. The Feka Automotive factory for the production of car parts in Cuprija started working in July 2020.

A year ago, it was announced that the Turkish investor planned the construction of another facility in Cuprija and the employment of more workers.

As the president of the Municipality of Cuprija, Ninoslav Eric, said at the time, in addition to the existing one, another factory of 7,500 m2 will be built, which will amount to a total of 15,000 m2.

Feka signed an agreement with Stellantis on the production of components for electric cars, which will be made in Kragujevac from 2024.

Eric also added that the Municipality of Cuprija had already secured an additional 2 ha for the construction of the new factory of the Turkish investor.
