The company Monteput doo from Montenegro and the PE Roads of Serbia have signed the memorandum which will enable the joint electronic toll collection, that is, a single TAG device for both countries.

At the Government of Serbia, the memorandum was signed by the deputy director of Roads of Serbia, Miodrag Poledica, and the director of Monteput, Milan Ljiljanic.

As the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic, emphasized on that occasion, the road which is being built to Montenegro and the electronic toll collection are their priorities. He also confirmed that the Serbian part of the road, to Pozega, would be completed by the end of 2023, after which the construction of the highway to Boljare, 107 kilometers long, would start.

– That road will be very busy, with a large number of cars on both sides. An integrated road toll is just a step toward a closer cooperation between people, so that there would be no borders in the Balkans and so that traveling would not be hampered – he explained, as announced on the website of the Government of Serbia.

The minister announced that, in the coming period, he would visit Podgorica so that he would discuss a joint border crossing with the competent Montenegrin minister.

– We have agreed a joint border crossing at the station in Bijelo Polje. We now have to do the same with road traffic, so that both police forces and both customs administrations would be in a single place, all to the end of reducing the waiting times – Vesic said.

Also, as he reminded, the reconstruction of the railroad from Belgrade to Bar, which is equally as important as the fast railroad which is being built from Belgrade to Nis, is expected as well.

– We have reconstructed the railroad to Valjevo, and we are now looking at works on the Valjevo-Vrbnica section, which should be completed by the end of the year – the minister announced and emphasized that the country thereby showed how important it is for the Government of Serbia to connect with Montenegro.
