The newly appointed ambassador of Japan to Serbia, Akira Imamura, has stated that Japan is an energy efficient country and that it will gladly share its experiences and technologies with Serbia, adding that the country is interested in being a partner in the planned infrastructure projects in Serbia, where Japanese companies already employ 3,000 people.

Imamura talked with the Serbian finance minister, Sinisa Mali, about the relations of the two countries and the possibilities of further cooperation, the government announced.

They highlighted the planned construction of the reversible hydro power plant Bistrica, a strategic energy project, as one of the most important projects on which Serbia and Japan could cooperate.

Mali noted that energy is a sector where Japan is Serbia’s partner and added that each investment from that country is precious and welcome, as it entails the arrival of the latest technology.
