Serbia and Montenegro to Sign Agreement on Intent to Introduce Electronic Invoices – Aiming to Eliminate Business Barriers and Reduce Costs for Citizens and Economy

The ministers of finance of Serbia and Montenegro, Sinisa Mali and Aleksandar Damjanovic, will sign an agreement on the intent to introduce electronic invoices on Wednesday in Belgrade.

The platform on the visit of Damjanovic to Belgrade says that it will also be an opportunity to further upgrade the cooperation with Serbia in the field of finance and economy and to establish direct payment transactions between the two countries.

– This will result in the final launching of the process of the elimination of long-standing business barriers and the reduction of costs for the citizens and the economy – the platform says.

As they reminded, during Damjanovic’s previous visit to the Ministry of Finance of Serbia, in January this year, there was discussion about improving the cooperation of the two countries in various fields, and information about the results of the implementation of the projects of digitalization in the field of fiscal systems was presented as well.

– Representatives of the Ministry of Finance of Serbia have expressed readiness to, among other things, meet the Ministry of Finance of Montenegro halfway to the end of implementing the electronic invoice system in the Montenegrin fiscal system – the document says.

Also, during the visit, the ministers will talk about the status of the Simo Milosevic Institute, as well as the receivables of the Deposit Insurance Agency of Serbia from the previous period toward a Montenegrin company, due to the account being blocked by the Agency.
