International freight forwarder cargo-partner opens new facility in Tianjin, People's Republic of China
The international transport and logistics company cargo-partner opens an own office in Tianjin, northern China. The Austrian company was already represented with 11 locations in China and therewith expands its network.
In the field of seafreight the Tianjin Xingang port, located 170 km away
from Beijing and 60 km from the city, is one of
the major hubs of China.
Furthermore it is the largest man-made sea and river port in China and the
most often called port for break bulk carriers, containers and heavy machinery.
In 2010 there was a throughput of 413 million tonnes of cargo and it is rising
steadily.
The Tianjin Binhai International Airport in the Dongli District is one of the major airfreight centers in the People’s Republic of China. The yearly throughput is about 200,000 tonnes of cargo and in 2010 it became the first E-Freight airport of China.
Next to the recent opening in the United Arab Emirates and the groundbreaking for the new Regional Distribution Center in Dunajska Streda in Slovakia, cargo-partner continues to expand.
Tianjin is
the twelfth office in the People’s Republic of China and concentrates in its first
phase on the Sea Cargo business in this region. Stefan Krauter, CEO of the
cargo-partner group notes:
- With this office we closed the last bigger gap in our network of own offices in China. Due to the proximity to the airport in Beijing, where we had a very enjoyable development in 2010, this was the only logical next step. Thanks to the growing network in our Asian ports the traffic within Asia and between Asia and America is getting more and more important for our company.
