On the “Oni kazu” TV show, the mayor of Pirot, Vladan Vasic, emphasized that this was good for Pirot for several reasons, as an incentive to the construction industry, through the prism of employment, because people will be employed at these facilities once they’re built, and primarily for the fact that these are renewable energy sources.
– Pirot is a favorable area in terms of sunlight, there is an interest in the construction of solar power plants and, by adopting the spatial plan as the umbrella urban plan, we have envisaged for investors who want to build energy facilities to have to prepare a detailed regulation plan, for the areas to be developed in detail in terms of urban planning, and for the construction to start only then. Many cities don’t have that – Vasic said.
He added that, toward Nisor, more precisely, toward Dobri Do, a French company has started preparing the detailed regulation plan for the construction of a solar power plant of 75 MW on 106 hectares.
– They have had problems with EPS, that is, EMS, because this is an enormous power and the power lines, the transfer systems, the cables need to be provided and that is complicated and will take a long time to solve. After that, we were contacted by English funds, which, in the location toward Ponor, where there used to be a big sour cherry plantation, on 50 hectares, want to build a solar power plant of 45 MW, and they have started preparing the detailed regulation plan. I hope that the investors will solve the problems successfully. We also have three small solar power plants, near Ponor in the Ravniste location, with a power of 5 MW, they have obtained the building permit, and then beyond that Ravniste 1, of 1 MW, and near the village of Basara, a power plant of 1 MW is being built – said mayor Vasic.
He emphasized that these investments were good as an incentive for the construction industry and that people would be employed at those facilities, and primarily, these are renewable energy sources.
