After the completion of the works, the new terminal building at the Nis Constantine the Great Airport will enable a capacity for 1.5 million passengers a year and be able to handle 6 aircraft at the same time, have 5 gates and the possibility of using a jet bridge, which is not the case at the moment, according to the website of the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure.

Also, as added, a higher number of side features and 700 m2 of commercial space will enable a much higher passenger comfort.

We remind that, as the minister of construction, transport and infrastructure of Serbia, Goran Vesic, said recently, a total of EUR 11 million will be invested in the new terminal building at the Nis Airport, whose construction is in progress. He added that the construction permits for the new control tower at the airport and for the reconstruction of the runway had been obtained.

The existing building was raised in 1986 and had a capacity of up to 100,000 passengers, and the highest number of passengers served, 422,255, was recorded in 2019 (in 2022, a total of 389,022 passengers were served).
