The NALED reminds that the Labor Act enables the workers to use their annual leave in a single bout or in several parts, except that the first part has to last for a continuous 10 work days and has to be used in the same calendar year in which the right to a vacation is acquired, whereas the rest can be transferred and used until June 30 the next year.
In addition to this new feature, Grey Book 15 also brings a range of updated and new recommendations for improving the position of workers in Serbia. Among the 15 recommendations that have been highlighted as priority ones are the proposition for the documentation from the legal and labor relations to be able to be digitized, so that, in addition to the decisions on annual leaves and wage slips, the employees are also able to get the decisions on maternity leaves, paid or unpaid leaves, the systematization rulebook and other documents in electronic form.
Also, among the priority recommendations is the long-standing initiative for the electronic procedure to also be expanded to other sectors in which there is a high degree of illegal employment on temporary, occasional and seasonal jobs, such as construction, tourism and hospitality, as well as home aid jobs, following the successful implementation of the electronic procedure for the registering of seasonal workers in agriculture. In the agrarian sector, in four and a half years, this procedure has enabled 75,000 seasonal workers to acquire the right to a pension insurance and healthcare in case of workplace injury for the days when they worked.
