Unique and Personalized Bedsheets for Babies and Children “Slatki Snovi Handmade by Jelena Ecka” – Baldachins, Blankets and Pillows for Little Ones’ Carefree Earliest Days

If you were the younger child in your family, you must have inherited everything from your older brother or sister, from the clothes, the crib, to the sheets. Children quickly outgrow every gift in the form of clothing, so it certainly helps the parents to have something left over from the older child. On the other hand, if you want to gift the new parents and the baby something that they are not likely to have and that is unique, then personalized baby sheets are certainly a good choice.

Jelena Macut Magda is the owner of the “Slatki Snovi Handmade by Jelena Ecka” brand and makes these unique products for babies. As she reveals in a conversation with eKapija, the range of her products is truly wide.

– The offer features full sheet sets for babies and children, baldachins, blankets, decorative pillows, embroidered or not – says this young entrepreneur who started her business with the help of the Program of Allocation of Grants for the Economic Strengthening of Women and Inciting the Development of Female Entrepreneurship in Zrenjanin.

As she points out, what sets her products apart from the competition is that each sheet is tailor-made at the customer’s request.

– In the process of making unique sheets, there are steps in sewing that I do exclusively by hand, but I make the majority of them on machines. I do everything by myself, but I have my husband’s support and help when necessary. It is up to the customer whether they want the sheets to be embroidered. We offer sheets with and without embroidery – says Macut Magda.

When asked where the idea for launching a business of this kind came from in the first place, she says it happened before she gave birth to her second child.

– I was looking for sheets for my son, and I couldn’t find anything close to what I wanted in the nearby baby equipment stores. So, I decided to sew it myself on the machine I had at home. I have to emphasize that my sewing skills were very modest at the time and I was familiar with only a few of the most basic operations, so it took me about two weeks to make those sheets, and now I can do the same job in a couple of hours – this young entrepreneur explains how she started out.

Describing her feelings about the first sheets she made, she says they seemed perfect to her at the time and that’s where she developed an affinity for this job and therefore, a year ago, decided to register her company with the help of subsidies for self-employment. As her business developed, so did the offer of sheets, embroideries and ideas.

– We make most things as per the customer’s wishes. If they want embroidered sheets, we design a couple of combinations, among which the customer selects the one they like the most. The majority of our most beautiful creations was born from the customer’s trust that we would make exactly what they had in mind, or something even better – clarifies Macut Magda and adds that she is currently preparing something completely different – sheets which will be a creation all of her own.

– I have been working on it for some time now and I hope it will be welcomed by the customers – she announces.

When asked where she finds her customers and how she advertises, she points out that social networks play a great role in the sale of her products.

– We still don’t have a website or a retail outlet, so we realize all sales through social networks. I plan to expand the production by the end of the year, but it mostly depends on the sales and where they go. I truly hope that we will be able to realize that next step by the end of the year. After that, I would be a step away from my biggest wish, which is to open a retail outlet in Zrenjanin, where all our potential customers could see the sheets in person – the owner of the “Slatki Snovi Handmade by Jelena Ecka” brand concludes her interview for eKapija.
