Serbia Has 466 Registered Wineries – Nearly 30 Million Liters of Wine Produced Last Year

The number of registered wineries in Serbia has increased 58% in the past few years and currently amounts to 466, said the minister of agriculture, Jelena Tanaskovic, on the occasion of the feast day of Saint Tryphon, the patron saint of winemakers.

– In the production year 2021/22, wineries reported the production of around 29.5 million liters of wine, which is 32% more than last year – she said while visiting the Cilic winery in Lozovik near Jagodina and wished the winegrowers and winemakers a successful harvest and excellent wine quality.


She added that, between 2019 and 2022, new vineyards had been established on 953 hectares, most of it in 2021 – 285 hectares of new vineyards, the ministry announced.
