The prime minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic, has announced that she will hand over the comments on the draft free trade agreement to her colleagues from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today and that she expects the agreement to be signed in the next three months.

– The signing of that agreement will contribute a lot to the improvement of the economic cooperation of the two countries – Brnabic told the press in Dubai.

She said that, at that moment, the total trade was not small, but that it was below the potentials of both countries.

– The goods trade is about EUR 80 million, but the trade of services is two and a half times higher, which shows that the sophistication of our economy matches theirs to a much greater extent than when it comes to goods that we export to the UAE – the prime minister said.

The minister of telecommunications and information of Serbia, Mihailo Jovanovic, emphasized that they were working with partners from the UAE on digitization and the development of artificial intelligence and bioinformatics.

He reminded that Serbia was working on amending the Law on Foreigners in order to facilitate the entrance of foreigners into Serbia, so that they could get an adequate visa or stay permit through the eGovernment portal in a few hours.
