Trade Between Serbia and China in 2022 Exceeds EUR 5 Billion

The total trade between Serbia and China in the first 10 months of the current year is higher than EUR 5 million, and the exports from Serbia to China, in the same period, exceed USD 1 billion, stated the minister of domestic and foreign trade of Serbia, Tomislav Momirovic.

After a meeting with the Chamber of Chinese Companies in Serbia, Momirovic estimated that the economic relations of the two countries were at a very high level, pointing to the data that, in 2012, the exports of Serbia to China amounted to slightly over USD 6 million, and that, in the first 10 months of 2022, they exceeded USD 1 billion, according to the website of the Government of Serbia.

– With the help of companies such as CRBC, Shandong, Zijin, Linglong and others, I believe that there’s plenty more we can offer to our citizens and people in China – he said.

The economic and commercial advisor at the Embassy of China to Serbia, Liu Kao, said that there were more and more Chinese companies in Serbia and that the economic and trade cooperation was crucial to the overall strategic partnership of China and Serbia.

The CEO of CRBC in Belgrade, Yang Dong, pointed out that the Chamber of Chinese Companies encompassed 47 big Chinese companies operating in Serbia.

– We can say that these companies have a considerable impact on the economic development of Serbia, and the share of Chinese companies in Serbia’s trade is around 20% – Dong said.

He added that, of the 10 biggest exporters in Serbia, the first three were Chinese companies and expressed his expectation that the cooperation would be even better in the next year.

– Next year will be extremely significant for the development of the economic relations of the two countries, considering the fact that a free trade agreement will be signed between Serbia and China, which will bring a more successful cooperation and improved operations of Chinese companies in your country – Dong said.
