The U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) today signed a guarantee scheme agreement with four banks in Serbia, by which companies will be enabled to take out loans in the total amount of USD 400 million.

The agreements were signed at the Ministry of Finance of Serbia with Addiko Bank, Banca Intesa, ProCredit and Raiffeisen Bank.

– The loans will be available to micro, small and medium enterprises which need help in business operations or development, with a special focus on agriculture, undeveloped regions, sustainable development, startups and companies run by women – said the minister of finance, Sinisa Mali.

He specified that the loan repayment period will be six months to 10 years.

Mali added that, in the first phase, the economy will have loans worth USD 272 million at its disposal.
