Negotiations on partnership between FAP and Dong Feng from China put on hold - Canadians interested in factory in Priboj
Negotiations on cooperation between FAP and Dong Feng, the manufacturer of heavy freight vehicles from China, have been put on hold, while interest in the acquisition of the Priboj-based company has also been expressed by a Canadian investment fund, FAP CEO Mirko Stojovic said today.
- Negotiations with the Chinese have not been discontinued but only put on hold due to different views on functioning of the retail network for vehicles that would be jointly produced - Mr. Stojovic told Beta agency.
As he explained, FAP's request was that business partners also bear the risk together in the domain of sales, while the Chinese company informed the Ministry of Economy of Serbia that it insisted that the risk of the sale of vehicles assembled in Priboj be borne exclusively by FAP.
- That means that the Chinese partner is interested only in the security of payment for delivered components - Mr. Stojovic pointed out.
According to the words of the CEO, the vehicle manufacturer in Priboj is also interesting to a financial investor from Canada, which is ready to invest in FAP and create conditions for establishment of a cooperation with one of the leading European manufacturers of freight vehicles.
