We are interested in providing full support to the further development of energy infrastructure in Serbia, especially the construction of the gas interconnection with Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska, the new oil pipeline to Hungary, but also the reconstruction of energy facilities, in which Russian companies have already taken part, stated the ambassador of the Russian Federation to Serbia, Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko.

He said that at the meeting with the minister of energy of Serbia, Dubravka Djedovic, regarding the bilateral cooperation of the two states in the fields of energy, where, among other things, plans regarding the construction of the new oil pipeline to Hungary and the connecting to the oil pipeline Druzhba were discussed, as reported on the website of the Government of Serbia.

The minister said that the Russian Federation was an important partner of Serbia in energy and added that, in the challenging times, it was apparent how much the construction of the Balkan Stream gas pipeline had contributed to the energy stability and security of Serbia, as it had secured a stable supply of gas.

Djedovic reminded that the project of the thermal power plant-heating plant (TE-TO) Pancevo had been realized in cooperation with Russian partners and that its commissioning was of great importance for Serbia.

She said that TE-TO Pancevo was the first gas-steam power plant in Serbia meant for the combined production of electrical and heating energy based on natural as, one of the ecologically cleanest fuels.

The minister pointed out that the planned production was sufficient for the supply of nearly 300,000 average households a year, which would contribute to the energy security of Serbia to a large extent.
