Company dm Srbija Comes of Age: Pioneering Endeavors, Successful Business Results and Record Donations to the Community

The company dm drogerie markt realized sales of RSD 22.5 billion in the business year 2021/22, with a growth of 18.67%, thereby successfully rounding off 18 years of operations in the Republic of Serbia. The company’s anniversary was marked by the introduction of the concept of long-term affordable prices, which changes the way people shop in the local market, and the record salary raises on three occasions during 2022. As one of the biggest subjects in the retail sector, dm started the new business year by launching the online store, thereby bringing its services and products closer to purchasers throughout Serbia.

In the past business year, dm Srbija expanded its sales network by opening seven new drogerie stores, so now it has 119 stores in 31 cities in the country. Over RSD 1.06 billion was invested in the opening of new drogerie stores, the renovation of the existing ones, the expansion of the distribution center and the opening of the new dm central, and the number of employees reached nearly 1,600. In early 2022, dm introduced the concept of “UVEK POVOLJNO” (“ALWAYS AFFORDABLE”), thereby replacing discounts with long-term affordable prices which maintain stability throughout the ever-present price growth in the market.

On the level of the entire group, which numbers 14 countries, dm realized total sales of EUR 13.581 billion, expanded its sales network to 3,945 drogerie stores, and the number of the employees in the concern exceeded 71,600.

During the business year 2021/2022, dm Srbija donated as much as RSD 34.74 million to the community, of which 28 million was donated in the form of monetary help and through the purchase of the necessary equipment, whereas 6.74 million was realized by donating the goods from their line of products.

In September 2022, the beginning of the fourth cycle of the traditional project “Plant a Tree” was marked, the biggest forestation campaign in Serbia, which the company had launched together with the media house Adria Media Group and institutional partners. As a result of the efforts so far, in the previous three phases of this campaign, a total of 350,000 trees were planted, and the planting of 250,000 new saplings is planned in the upcoming cycle.


The company dm placed among “The 20 Most Desirable TOP Employers in Serbia” within the largest local employer brand perception survey carried out on the Poslovi Infostud portal. This acknowledgment has additionally strengthened the position of the drogerie store chain dm as one of the most in demand employers. Their competitive salaries, two bonus wages in a year, the remote work concept “smart working”, various courses, training sessions and seminars, as well as free medical checks – are only some of the numerous incentives that the chain provides to the employees.

As the company says, the principle of “Man at the Center of Business” remains the guiding light of dm. This principle is woven into the foundations of the drogerie chain since its founding and is consistently implemented across the group – whether it’s employees, customers or partners, dm is always guided by the idea that economy serves man, not the other way around.
