Linglong announced on Friday that the construction of the car tire factory in Zrenjanin had not been stopped and that the halt was the result of the problems they’d had with the subcontractors.

– The works are not, nor will they be, stopped – Linglong announced in response to the media announcements about the stopping of the construction of the factory.

As explained, China Energy Engineering Group Tianjin Electric Power Construction (CEEC TEPC), the Belgrade branch, which is one of the contractors, “had difficulties hiring enough workforce for the realization of the agreements signed with Linglong, and in addition to that, it violated the terms of the agreement on several bases”.

It is pointed out that this has led to the impossibility of completion of the agreed works within the agreed deadlines and resulted in serious delays and a negative impact on the operations of Linglong.

– In order to ensure that the project is completed as planned, we had no other choice but to terminate a part of the agreement with CEEC TEPC and hire new and reliable contractors for the completion of the works within the planned time deadline – the press release says.

It is also pointed out that “the other main contractors, CCCC and CRBC, as well as the subcontractors, are still continuously and dedicatedly working on the construction of the project”.

The signing of the agreement and the handing over of the works with the new contractor are in progress, and they will soon join the works at the construction site.

– Together with the existing and new contractors, we will accelerate the construction of the factory and launch the production in the near future – said Linglong.

Let us remind that the Vojvodina Research and Analytical Center (VOICE) announced a day before that, in the next six months, there would be no significant works at the Linglong construction site and that, allegedly, the works were being temporarily stopped because the costs of the transport of the materials had become too high.
